The world's most famous striped fluorite was mined in the 19th century in Derbyshire, England: Blue John.
It was harvested for its ornamental value and the craftsmen managed to dig the bowls and bowls that we find today in the most beautiful English castles.
But a recent discovery has outclassed Blue John: Rainbow Fluorite from the Deqing fluorite mine in Zhejiang province, China.
This piece has perfect bands of purple, green, transparent ... and very few stones, including in this mine, have such graphic interest.
