The lacquered furniture were mostly in the palaces, temples, and mansions of the powerful. The technique used for the production of this cabinet is the "luo-tien" for furniture inlaid with mother of pearl.
The Chinese are fond of furniture inlaid with mother of pearl or carved. In addition to the pearl and enamel, there are also inlaid jade colorful, ivory, horn, agate, amber and various gemstones. The beautiful patterns on this cabinet depict scenes of campaigns where characters are present, birds, flowers and stylized leaves. A superb piece of furniture for a romantic and charming interior.
