It is a reproduction of the head created by the painter and sculptor Modigliani in 1912 and which is present today at the Mineapolis Institute of Art.

Protaganist of the vibrant Parisian artistic community around 1910, the Italian Amedeo Modigliani sought to establish a new sculptural language, largely inspired by African, Greek and ancient Egyptian examples.

The current Head was one of seven exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in October 1912.

A few months earlier, it had been photographed in the artist's studio, making it one of his best-documented works.

Modigliani wanted the heads to be part of “columns of tenderness” within a primordial “temple of beauty” which was not realized.

These 13 blue butterflies come from the rainforests at the base of the Andes in Peru. What they all have in common is this mixture of black velvet and shades of blue on their wings. They are members of the Nymphalidae family. Among them, the Naeocles Jucunda live in the canopy of these forests, others like the Panacea Prola like to lounge on the banks of rivers, even in light rain. This Peruvian cocktail is presented under a round globe with a brass base.

Red gorgonians (Acabaria biserialis) line the rocky slopes between 20 and 100 meters deep. It is necessary to use a flashlight to appreciate their brilliance, because at this depth, the red appears dark blue.

High porcelain candlesticks 50cm high. This candlestick is made of black porcelain with a beautiful blue porcelain parrot.  The base of the candlestick is square and column is made of black porcelain and brass that are worked and sculpted in the Napoleon III style. Admirable item in a baroque, romantic and naturalistic style that we love.

The moors were members of Muslim people of North Africa, of mixed Arab and Berber descent. In the 8th century they were converted to Islam and established power in North Africa, Sicily and Spain, where they established a civilization (756–1492).

THE LEGEND : 

During the Arab domination in Sicily, in Palermo city, there was an Arab Suburb called "La Kalsa".

In this small suburb was living a beautiful young lady who used to spend her time in taking care of the flowers on her balcony.

One day, a young moor was walking down the lady's balcony. He noticed the beauty of the lady and he truly fell in love with her.

He did not wait a minute to declare his love for her, and the beautiful young lady, impressed by the lover's boldness, started feeling the same love.

Unfortunately, the young moor was already married and was father of a few kids... as soon as the young lady found out that he would have left for going back to his family, she waited until the night and killed him while he was sleeping deeply. She cut his head and used it as a vase for her plants, so that she could have him forever by her side.

As the beauty of this vase was magnificent, all the neighborhood wanted to own a similar one.

From that moment, they decide to create ceramics moor heads as vases.
