    Faithful, large and very beautiful reproduction of Selene's horse's head, currently on display at the British Museum.

    This statue represents the real size of a horse from the ancient Roman era (140cm / 150cm at the withers) which was smaller than our current horses.

    The size of the statue itself is exactly 77cm tall by 78cm long. With its black brushed metal display: 80cm high.

    This fragment is part of the reconstruction of the East pediment of the Acropolis Museum: it represented the birth of Athena emerging fully armed from the head of Zeus, the other gods witnessing the scene; in the left corner, the chariot of the Sun (Helios) emerges from the ocean marking the appearance of day, in the right corner, the chariot of the Moon (Selene) pulled by horses plunges into the ocean.

    Like many of the sculptures in the Parthenon, this horse's head is kept in the British Museum.
